Augmented reality (AR) represents the evolution of stereoscopic and 3D photography, surpassing the depth illusions of its predecessors by seamlessly integrating virtual elements into the real world. Unlike the offset images of stereoscopic and 3D photography, AR employs advanced technologies for real-time spatial mapping, fostering interactive and dynamic experiences. AR’s impact extends beyond visual depth, offering immersive storytelling by embedding virtual elements into physical spaces. It goes further by providing contextual information, interactive engagement, and breaking the passive observer mold, marking a paradigm shift in visual storytelling. Ultimately, AR transforms our perception of reality and reshapes how we interact with and interpret our surroundings. My residency is going to focus on Stereoscopic photography and its evolution to AR. I plan to engage with community through various activities, including a workshop, with a focus on Augmented Reality (AR). As the residency concludes, I am honored to reveal that a solo exhibition of the work produced during the residency will be shown at the Sum Gallery in April. TBA
